Workshop & Program Notes
The Workshop location will be forthcoming…but the meeting
presentations will be in the Kaibab Room which is about
100 yards from "The Inn" on campus…NOT in
the Cline Library.
Our workshop will be Thursday afternoon and we encourage
everyone to participate. It is titled "Introduction
to Geographic Exploration Systems: Google
Earth and
WorldWind".
Should be a lot of fun. Workshop and fun is not an
oxymoron.
Our program will focus on the Grand
Canyon and the
wonderful local resources.
USGS has a unique
facility (planetary mapping) in Flagstaff, along
with several branches of USGS. Following brief presentations
Friday afternoon on Planetary Nomenclature, Mars topographic
mapping, and “RPIF”s
or Regional
Planetary Image Facilities, our program
will include a brief onsite visit.
